Living Near a Starbucks Increases Your Property Value

Call it the "Frappuccino Effect."

A new Starbucks location often provides the first sign that a neighborhood is gentrifying, and new data suggests the lure of Starbucks is even stronger than expected. Curbed breaks down a new study by the CEO and chief economist of real-estate site Zillow, discovering that properties near a Starbucks location "appreciate at a faster rate than US housing on the whole" — at a 96 percent increase compared to the 65 percent norm.
