The Obamas Spent New Year's Day in the Lap of Luxury

Barack and Michelle Obama really know how to do "date night": According to wire reports tracking the First Family's holiday vacation in Hawaii, the President and First Lady enjoyed a New Year's Day dinner at Honolulu's exclusive Vintage Cave, which self-describes as a "fine-dining restaurant and private society." The cost for society membership, which net members access to a private wine cellar and the invitation to invite non-members to dine, costs $50,000 to $500,000.

No word on what the Obamas ate (or if they had to be "sponsored" by a member to dine), but the restaurant's prix fixe menu starts at $295 for anywhere between 13 and 15 courses. The Obamas, this time with daughters in town, also made a pit-stop at a shave ice stand — the above photo isn't quite Biden-level amazing, but it'll do.
