Book Deals: April Bloomfield, Robert Moss, and More

Here's a first look at the cover of bicoastal chef April Bloomfield's (Spotted Pig, Tosca Cafe) second book, A Girl and Her Greens. As promised, it includes a variety of vegetable-focused recipes, a departure from her 2012 ode to pork, A Girl and Her Pig. The cookbook is set to be released March 17, 2015.

Meanwhile, a couple Tuesday afternoon book deals, courtesy Publishers Marketplace: First up, food and drink historian Robert Moss is publishing Southern Spirits: Four Hundred Years of Drinking in the South with Ten Speed Press. Filled with lesser-known facts, archival images, and recipes of classic Southern beverages, the book promises to challenge many Southern-booze misconceptions while celebrating the culture of beer, wine, and spirits below the Mason-Dixon line. No release date has been set.

Executive chef Nongkran Daks of Virginia restaurant Thai Basil is collaborating with food writer Alexandra Greeley for their third cookbook, Nong's Thai Kitchen: 84 Classic Recipes That Are Quick, Healthy and Delicious (Tuttle Publishing). The chef shares her secret to preparing dishes like shrimp soup in coconut milk and roasted duck curry in half an hour or less; the book will hit shelves May 2015.
