Chef Andy Ricker of Pok Pok may be looking to expand his restaurant empire to either Los Angeles or Hawaii. Ricker told Eater at the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival that a Pok Pok outpost in Los Angeles was "high on his list" and that he would most likely open in LA's Chinatown. He is also considering opening an outpost in Hawaii, because Honolulu's Chinatown is capable of providing the noodles that he needs, plus a "bounty of other local ingredients."
Currently, Ricker — who is known for his mastery of Thai cuisine — owns Pok Pok locations in Portland, Oregon and Brooklyn, New York. Eater has reached out to Ricker for comment.
