SFA's Food Media South; a Literal Rock-Star Chef at POT

ALABAMA— The Southern Foodways Alliance will lend their hosting skills to the annual Food Blog South event, now christened Food Media South and set for February 27 and 28, 2015. Speakers like NPR's Debbie Elliott, The Bitter Southerner founder Chuck Reece, and Eater's own restaurant critic Bill Addison will converge on Birmingham, Alabama for two days of discussions about "storytelling in the digital era." LOS ANGELESJarobi White, a member of the hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest, will team with Roy Choi to cook up a "Korean Soul Food" theme night at POT this Friday, September 5. NEW YORK CITY— The 2015 Team USA contingent for Bocuse d'Or Team will be feted during a "Chocolate Factory Party" thrown by Brooklyn's Mast Brothers on September 19. Team USA chefs Philip Tessier and Skylar Stover will prepare snacks and chocolate desserts, and proceeds from the $100 ticket will benefit the ment'or organization, which "supports the ongoing education and training of young culinary professionals."
