Will stamps emblazoned with the faces of culinary legends save the ailing USPS? Today, the US Postal Service is releasing the full set of five forever stamps honoring "food world pioneer James Beard, Chinese food champion Joyce Chen, legendary cookbook author Julia Child, Southern cooking ambassador Edna Lewis, and South American chef Felipe Rojas-Lombardi."
A release notes that all five chefs "revolutionized the nation's understanding of food" and inspired "the American public to expand its collective palates." The stamps — which were designed by artist Jason Seiler to look like oil paintings — are available in strips of five, blocks of 10, and panes of 20. Pair them with the recently released farmers' market stamps for the ultimate culinary take on snail mail.
