A boat operated by tour group Manhattan By Sail ran aground in the middle of a beer-focused "booze cruise" this weekend, forcing the Coast Guard to rescue 121 passengers and nine crew members around the ship. ABC7 reports no one was injured during the accident, which occurred when the ship's captain struck a mud shoal near Liberty Island and was forced to be towed back in. As one passenger told the Daily News, the accident did not stop the promisedg boozing: "We did get all our tastings in... we had five kinds of beers."
It's not the first unfortunate incident to befall booze cruises: Earlier this year, a popular booze cruise ship in California sank after an unexpected snowstorm.
