Food & Wine Opens Contest for America's Best New Bars

Voting is now open for Food & Wine magazine's inaugural The People's Best New Bars contest. According to a press release, this is the magazine's "first-ever poll to rank the most incredible drink destinations in America." All 100 of the nominees have been open for three years or less and come from different regions within the United States. One winner will be singled out for each region and the bar with "the most overall votes" will be declared the best bar in the U.S. on October 2.

Nominees include bars such as The Dead Rabbit in New York City, Kimball House in Decatur, Georgia, and Ava Gene's in Portland, Oregon. Voting runs through Tuesday, September 30. See the full list of nominees below:
