Last night on the Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert swiftly came to the defense of the Olive Garden. The chain got "kicked in the meatballs" this week when investors/killjoys Starboard Value presented a powerpoint with 300 slides slamming many aspects of Olive Garden including how the pasta is cooked. For Colbert however, "Starboard went overboard," when they took issue with Olive Garden's unlimited breadstick policy: "What are we supposed to do now? Eat limited bread in non-stick form?… Folks I am shocked by this blatant attempt by a few Wall Street big shots to take away our carbohydrate rods." Go, watch.
