Los Angeles, brace for some serious Khao Soi: As hinted, chef Andy Ricker will open not one, but two, outposts of his Pok Pok empire in The City of Angels. According to Eater LA, Pok Pok LA will be in downtown LA's Chinatown, inside the Mandarin Plaza. The Los Angeles Times writes the restaurant will fill two floors and will feature a bar and a lounge downstairs, and a dining room and courtyard seating upstairs.

Ricker tells the LAT that the menu "will be very similar to that of Pok Pok PDX, with many of the dishes served at Whiskey Soda Lounge making up the bar menu." Ricker is also opening an LA outpost of his noodle shop Pok Pok Phat Thai; the New York City location closed today in preparation for its move to Brooklyn. The noodle shop will also be located in Chinatown, inside the Far East Center, and could possibly open as early as this November. Pok Pok LA is slated to open next Spring.
