Anthony Weiner, the New York-based politician whose sexual antics inspired many a hot-dog business, is opening a restaurant. According to the Rockaway Times, Weiner plans to open Rockaway Restoration Kitchen in the Queens, NY neighborhood that was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Perhaps it will help to restore Weiner's reputation.
The project's website notes that the restaurant's mission is to "provide a comfortable neighborhood restaurant with healthy, locally-sourced food that satisfies the hunger of Rockaway residents." A proposed menu has not yet been released, but the media sincerely hopes that Weiner will use this opportunity to give the world sausages of the edible kind.
The restaurant will also offer the community "dignity and self-sufficiency by serving as a hands-on training ground to provide skills, real experience and job placement in the culinary industry." The Rockaway Times notes that the project is still in developmental stages and is currently on the hunt for an executive director. There is no information regarding an opening date yet.
