Taste Talks — "an experimental food symposium"— is coming to Chicago for the first time. According to the press release, the conference will take place October 3, 4, and 5 and will be presented by chef Mario Batali and curated by chef Paul Kahan (Avec, Blackbird). Eater Chicago writes that the event will feature "a series of panels discussing food from some of the biggest names in the industry."
Attendees can expect events at places like Eataly, Open Secret Studios, and Palmer Square. There will also be an "All-Star BBQ" with food from chefs including Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese), Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill), and Amanda Cohen (Dirt Candy). Taste Talks will also have panels "on the future of food, drink, and the restaurant business." Food startup Dinner Lab will also host a one-night-only pop-up dinner with chef Pat Sheerin of Trencherman. The conference is also taking place in Brooklyn, New York this year from September 12 to 14. Bowien will serve as curator and Batali will serve as official presenter for the New York event.
