This weekend, a story surfaced about a reality star's private recipe for egg salad being stolen from a house rented in the Hamptons. According to the report, said reality star believed the recipe was "priceless" but estimated it was worth $4,000 "for insurance purposes." Despite being picked up by Gawker, the Braiser, and a Wall Street Journal reporter, turns out that whole thing was just one big gag. Perhaps the story would have been harder to believe had someone not recently received $55,000 to make potato salad.
