Manresa Bread Pops Up; New Duff Goldman Casting Call

CALIFORNIA— While Manresa continues to recover from a July fire that's temporarily closed the restaurant, chef/owner David Kinch is keeping busy. First up: Kinch announced his bakery side-project Manresa Bread will pop-up at Santa Cruz's POPUP space every Wednesday in a "limited engagement." Meanwhile, Manresa's annual Tomato Modernista Dinner, during which Kinch and his team cook up 100 tomato varieties in one tasting menu, will move from the restaurant to Love Apple Farms. The date's been set for September 13; more information here. [@ManresaBread; ISSF]

CASTING CALLS— It looks like Duff Goldman has a new reality competition show in the works, and it's currently casting for Los Angeles-based cake decorators. According to the open call, the show is currently in its pilot stages, and will be some kind of "cake competition show featuring Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes." Have more intel about the show? Send it here. [EaterWire]
