Melita Bakery, which supplied the now-shuttered Crumbs cupcake stores, has laid off 75 of its bakers. Before the cupcake chain filed for bankruptcy, Melita had a standing order for 225,000 cupcakes per week. However, that quickly dropped to 100,000 per week, which has forced Melita to scale back.
