Brian Malarkey Is Opening Yet Another Restaurant

Photo: Facebook

Chef/frequent reality show participant Brian Malarkey is opening a new San Diego restaurant in an auspicious location: Eater SD reports the new project is one storefront away from fellow Top Chef alum Richard Blais's restaurant Juniper & Ivy. According to Eater SD, the restaurant will not be a part of the Malarkey's "Fabric of Social Dining" portfolio (which includes Searsucker, Herringbone, and the now-closed Gabardine and Burlap), but will represent an entirely new concept developed with his newish investors at Hakkasan Ltd.

It's been a busy few months for the former judge of The Taste: In January, Malarkey abruptly closed Gabardine and an Arizona location of Searsucker, then quickly debuted a Los Angeles outpost of Herringbone. The as-yet-unnamed new concept is aiming for an early 2015 opening.
