Bon Appétit has released their annual list of nominees for America's Best New Restaurant, all which were chosen by restaurant editor Andrew Knowlton. Out of the 50 restaurants nominated, Austin makes the list three times thanks to restaurants Odd Duck, Thai-Kun, and Qui. New York City also has three nominees on the list: Estela, Sushi Nakazawa, and Uncle Boon's. Brooklyn's scandinavian-influenced beer haunt Luksus makes the cut as well. On the West coast, Los Angeles has a strong showing with five restaurants nominated, including tickets-only spot Trois Mec from chefs Ludo Lefebvre, Jon Shook, and Vinny Dotolo.
Bon Appétit will narrow down the list to the Hot 10 on August 19. Earlier this week, the magazine also announced a partnership with Bravo on the network's upcoming show Best New Restaurant which pits 16 of the "nation's hottest new restaurants against each other in a series of challenges." While the Hot 10 list will be separate from the show, the magazine will "lend its expertise" to the series.
