FoodPanda Raises $60M; Alamo Drafthouse's Feast

EVERYWHEREFoodPanda, the online food delivery service by global internet provider Rocket Internet, has raised a whopping $60 million in a second round of funding. TechCrunch reports FoodPanda will use the funds to grow its operations (it's currently available in 40 countries), including a push as a "Delivery Club" in Russia. [TechCrunch]

AUSTIN— The Lakeline, Austin location of Alamo Drafthouse will throw a "feast" on behalf of the new film The Hundred-Foot Journey, combining a screening with a multi-course meal by Alamo chef Trish Eichelberger. The four-course dinner, set for next Wednesday, August 20, features courses inspired by the film's French and Indian influences (coriander-crusted tuna nicoise salad, saag goat cheese crepes), and includes drink pairings. NEW YORK CITY— NYC'S 19th-annual Harvest in the Square, a celebration of Union Square Park, has announced its 2014 date: On September 18, chefs from nearby restaurants like Hill Country Kitchen, Junoon, and Union Square Cafe (obviously) will serve tastes of dishes, with all produce sourced from the Square's iconic Greenmarket.
