James Beard-Award winning writer Tejal Rao has been named Bloomberg's new food editor and restaurant critic: WWD reports that Rao, who resigned from her post at the Village Voice back in May 2013, will step into a new role, reviewing for a "luxury-oriented" spin-off of the Bloomberg brand. The new print publication will launch in early 2015, although according to Eater NY, Rao's reviews will start appearing on its online home as soon as next month. At Bloomberg, Rao replaces Ryan Sutton, who departed to join Eater earlier this year, and as Eater NY points out, Rao's return marks that of "one of very few female restaurant critics in New York."
