Game of Thrones-Themed Wine Is Coming

Game of Thrones super fans will soon be able to drink a collection of wines based on the show. According to PSFK, Sydney-based advertising agency Common Ventures has created a line of wines, aptly called The Wines of Westeros, that they plan to launch next year in time for season five of GOT. The wine will be sourced from Australian vineyards so that the bottles are "full flavored libations" and are not just a "collectible item for a fan's shelf."

According to The Wines of Westeros website, there are red and white wines for the 12 houses on the show. Fans of the Arryn, Greyjoy, White Walker, Wilding, and Stark clans can expect bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, while the Tyrell's are a Chardonnay, and the Targaryen and Night's Watch are represented by Shiraz. The Dothraki bottles are Merlot, the Martell's are a Cabernet Sauvignon, and those who prefer Pinot Noirs should pick up the Baratheon and Lannister clan bottles. A representative for Common Ventures tells PSFK that "the reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust [while] the whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious."

Game of Thrones has also inspired a range of beers from Brewery Ommegang: Every year the brewery releases two beers tied to themes from the show. Beyond booze, a restaurant in Minneapolis held a five-course GOT-themed dinner that featured dishes like goose leg confit and bison leg. Chef Tom Colicchio also served a menu based on the show from food trucks in New York and Los Angeles. The Wines of Westeros are currently available for pre-order and will cost $20 AUD ($18.75 USD) a bottle. See photos of the bottles below:
