TGI Fridays Bravely Feeds America Unlimited Appetizers

For its latest stunt TGI Fridays is now offering unlimited appetizers through August 24. According to the press release (below), the promotion offers all-you-can-eat appetizers for $10 per person. The only catch is that it only applies to one dish from a list of the chain's "most popular starters." Customers can pick between items like loaded potato skins, boneless buffalo wings, spinach dip, and mozzarella sticks.

Although sharing is discouraged, Brian Gies, the chief marketing officer for the chain, tells USA Today that "the rule will not be enforced by servers." He adds, "At the end of the day, our servers aren't policemen…We're not going to slap someone's hand if they reach over and share someone else's mozzarella sticks." While the restaurant runs the risk of people milking the deal, when the chain tested the idea earlier this year, "traffic and food and drink sales at the restaurant jumped nearly double-digits during the promotion."

TGI Fridays also has a hip food truck traveling around the country promoting its "handcrafted" menu this summer. The truck has been handing out free samples of items like ahi tuna crisps served with a Guy Fieri-esque cucumber-wasabi ranch. The never-ending baskets of mozzarella sticks, however, are only available at TGI Fridays locations around the country. See the press release:
