Cronut King Dominique Ansel Unleashes Canned Sundaes

Cronut creator Dominique Ansel is at it again: This time he's managed to can ice cream sundaes. According to Eater NY, Ansel will operate a one-day pop-up ice cream truck in East Hampton, New York this Saturday called "Pop It." The pastry chef will spend the day serving up root beer float-inspired sundaes in soup cans.

According to the New York Post, each chocolate-lined soup can will be filled with root beer and stracciatella ice creams, mascarpone semifreddo, honey marshmallows, macerated cherries, and mini cherry meringues. Each sundae retails for $15, feeds two people, and 20% of the proceeds will go to the charity City Harvest. Like all Ansel creations, you should probably start lining up now. If you can't get your hands on the sundae in a can, pastry chef Christina Tosi is about to introduce Crack Pie soft-serve on her late-Summer menu.
