Farm to Table Symposium; LA's Crab Cake 2014

NEW ORLEANS— Tickets are still available to this weekend's Farm to Table International Symposium in New Orleans, where chefs, policy makers, and farmers will converge to discuss every aspect of the farm-to-table movement. (Panels have names like "Preventing Food Waste from Field to Fork" and "Crop to Cup: Starting a Farm-to-Glass Distillery," while a concurrent film festival curated by the Southern Food and Beverage Museum will screen documentaries about everything from bees to POWs.) LOS ANGELES— Chefs Duff Goldman and Bryan and Michael Voltaggio will team up with non-chefs Joel and Benji Madden for the second-annual Crab Cake, described as a west coast take on the Maryland crabfest.
