Nick Fagnano, the victim of a "freak thunderstorm" in Venice Beach yesterday, was a 20-year-old bartender at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Lightning struck the water while Fagnano was swimming and the "ensuing electrical surge knocked" him unconscious. Fagnano was pulled out of the water in critical condition, but died at the hospital.
