Brooklyn's Taste Talks; Feminist Food Mag Kickstarts

BROOKLYN— The line-up for this year's Brooklyn Taste Talks has been revealed. Mission Chinese's Danny Bowien acts as curator for the 2014 event (set for September 12 to 14), with chefs like Brooks Headley, Andy Ricker, and Alex Guarnashelli among those scheduled to speak. Mario Batali will act as the conference's official presenter, hosting a panel of artists and musicians to talk about "Becoming a Tastemaker." Tickets and more information here. [EaterWire]

FOOD MEDIARender, which self-describes as a "feminist food and culture" publication, is raising funds for its inaugural issue on Kickstarter. The first issue, which has yet to hit printers, promises recipes and interviews with Portland chef Jenn Louis (Lincoln) and butcher Camas Davis. [EaterWire]

NEW YORK CITYSun Noodles, which will open its first-ever Ramen Lab later this summer, will first pop-up at NYC restaurant Louro for a multi-course meal on August 4. According to Eater NY, Sun Noodle chef Shigetoshi "Jack" Nakamura will be on-hand to serve a menu of nigiri and at least two kinds of ramen. [Eater NY]
