Another El Jefe Pop-Up; Eat Drink SF's Chronicle Class

LOS ANGELES— El Jefe, the fictional Cubano truck in Jon Favreau's film Chef, will pop-up for real once again in Los Angeles, taking over Animal tonight starting at 6p.m. Chef Roy Choi, who consulted on the film and may or may not go into the restaurant business with Favreau, Tweeted the details today: Sandwiches will be available for take-out only, while supplies last. SAN FRANCISCO— As a preview of sorts to the Eat Drink SF food festival (set for August 1 to 3), the SF Chronicle will hold a cocktail reception and dinner in honor of the Chronicle's Top 100 Class of 2014. Chefs Michael Chiarello, Tyler Florence, and Jennifer Puccio are among those collaboration on the five-course dinner.
