Here's a compelling short film that follows Bill Meier, a 52-year-old bike messenger for Brooklyn's Best Pizza. In the 10-minute documentary, Meier recounts some harrowing tales — getting jumped by neighborhood kids and bike accidents that led to the emergency room — accumulated in his 30 years on the job. (Eater NY also interviewed Meier during a Pizza Week feature in 2012.) In the film, by No Weather Productions, Meier says delivering is "something I enjoy," but he also hints at missed opportunities in his past and difficulties in his present. Ultimately: "The day I can no longer ride a bike better be the day I'm fucking dead." Go, watch:
