The drought that is forcing water prices up in California is causing the price of beef to skyrocket in Texas, reports KHOU. According to chef Ronnie Killen of Killen's Barbecue in Pearland, Texas, prices have jumped as much as "35% across the board." Even with the U.S. cattle supply at a 60-year low, diners aren't balking at the higher prices. Customer Nathan Smith said: "If it was my last bite of beef, I'd pay 10 bucks for a single bite." [KHOU]
