Seattle's Iconic Canlis Salad Lands in New York City

Photo: Brian Canlis

The iconic Canlis salad, from the essential Seattle restaurant by the same name, will be available in New York City for a limited period of time. According to Grub Street, the salad will available at the NoMad Bar starting July 21, for two weeks and will cost $14. Restaurateur Brian Canlis has been working at the NoMad Bar since it opened last month as part of a "friendternship" with NoMad's Will Guidara, and GS notes the special menu item will act as a "send off" as Canlis wraps up his NYC stint.

While the version sold at Canlis is prepared table side, Grub Street notes that the version in NYC will be assembled in the kitchen. Not to fret though, everything else will remain the same. This means NYC diners can expect the same "deceptively simple" dressing tossed with a mixture of Romaine, Romano cheese, herbs, bacon, scallion, tomato, and house-made croutons.
