"It was certainly not my intention to insult Gordon Ramsay," begins a Facebook post in which chef Jacques Pépin clarifies his recent piece in The Daily Meal on the dangers of reality television. Pépin says that he "understand[s] well the demands that television has put on [Ramsay] and others like him to create excitement," and offers a balanced view of the reality of television production. The culinary instructor and chef simply wants "aspiring young chefs" to have a clear view of the career they're getting into. "The only real reason to become a chef is because it fulfills you," says Pépin.
