One of Food & Wine's Best New Chefs and Top Chef Texas winner Paul Qui has become the latest chef to opt out of offering a la carte options on his menu. His namesake restaurant, Qui in Austin, switches over to a prix fixe tasting menu only beginning this evening, reports Eater Austin. After a few weeks of testing out the prix fixe format and in advance of opening a separate ticketed tasting room, the restaurant officially goes all-tasting tonight. The standard menu — which will be around seven courses per person — is priced at $65; a vegetarian option goes for $55.
Tonight's menu includes dishes like Amberjack on binchotan with cilantro and ume miso; Chicken with corn milk, marigold, and fermented corn mostarda, and Wagyu oxtail with king trumpet mushroom, lamb's quarters, and wasabi. Head over to Eater Austin to see the complete menu.
