Here are your Wednesday afternoon book deals, as reported by Publishers Marketplace. MasterChef Australia contestant and personal trainer Dan Churchill has landed a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster. First up is Dudefood, which is geared towards "guys who have always wanted to cook but don't know where to start." There will be simple entertaining tips plus recipes for everything from breakfast to dessert, as well as pre-workout snacks and hangover cures. The book will be released next April 2015.
Next up, Libby O'Connell, who is the History Channel's lead historian, will publish a book with Sourcebooks. Entitled The American Plate: A Culinary History in 100 Bites, it will be a "history of the evolution of American food." The book is set to be released in November 2014.
Lastly, Daily Beast contributor Liza Gates will release a "cookbook-memoir-manifesto." Gates suffered a stroke at 28 and the book will cover the role that diet played on her recovery. She will also write about how that experience inspired her to be an "advocate for educating others about the positive impact food can have." The book will be published by Clarkson Potter. There are no details regarding the title or release date yet.
