Today, Napa Valley gem and culinary destination The Restaurant at Meadowood in St. Helena, California announces this year's 12 Days of Christmas schedule. For the seventh year in a row, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant invites some of the world's best chefs into its kitchen to host special dinners over a dozen days around Christmastime, and it's all for a good cause. This year, proceeds will benefit The Holly Cranston Memorial Fund, which helps children with disabilities and their families; and the Napa Emergency Women's Services (NEWS), which provides a refuge for women and children suffering from domestic violence.
The 12-day lineup reads like a list of chefs on the culinary cusp: Chef Kobe Desramaults of In De Wulf (Dranouter, Belgium) will command the kitchen on day 3; Chef Alexandre Gauthier of La Grenouillère (La Madelaine sous Montreuil, France) takes over on day 4; Chef Virgilio Martínez of Central in Lima, Peru and London will cook on day 7; Alinea's chef and creator Grant Achatz flies in from Chicago for day 8; Chef Corey Lee of Benu and the new Monsieur Benjamin will drive over to cook on day 9; and Chef Esben Holmboe Bang (Maaemo, Oslo, Norway) will be in town for day 10. The Seventh Annual Twelve Days of Christmas® at Meadowood Napa Valley
The Nation's Only 12-Day Charitable Food & Wine Celebration
St. Helena, Calif. – July 15, 2014 – Hosted by Chef Christopher Kostow, Director Nathaniel Dorn and The Restaurant at Meadowood team, the country's singular twelve-day, charitable food and wine celebration: The Twelve Days of Christmas® at Meadowood Napa Valley returns for its seventh season, December 5 through 20. Eleven influential chefs from around the world will cook in collaboration with Chef Kostow and each will be paired with one of twelve legendary vintners.
This year's celebration will once again benefit two Napa Valley charitable organizations with the goal of making a positive impact on locals in need: The Holly Cranston Memorial Fund, dedicated to helping children with disabilities and their families; and the Napa Emergency Women's Services (NEWS), which provides a nurturing refuge for women and children suffering from domestic violence. Meadowood will donate $2,000 in honor of each participating chef plus 20 percent of every dinner ticket sold to be shared equally between the local charities.
