Southern Foodways Alliance director/M.F.K Fisher Distinguished Writing Award Winner/Southern food expert John T. Edge has landed a deal to publish The Potlikker Papers. According to Publishers Marketplace, the book will be "a personal history of Southern food." Edge will also cover how "issues of race and ethnicity" have shaped food in the South and why the region's cuisine "came to be at the forefront of American culinary culture." The Potlikker Papers will be published by Penguin. Edge has written many books before including The Truck Food Cookbook. There is no information regarding a release date yet.
