Barack Obama pulled the ultimate presidential move yesterday and vetoed waiting in the notoriously long line at famed Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas. According to an interview with owner Aaron Franklin, Eater Austin notes that Franklin almost missed POTUS: the chef/barbecue god and his wife had no advanced warning — they were out running errands and got stuck in traffic.

Franklin also reveals that "no one's ever just skipped the line and gone right up to the counter and ordered food" but they let the leader of the free world cut in line: "I can't even imagine what kind of security nightmare it would be for a president to stand in line on the side of the street for several hours." He did however tell Obama that "he was only person ever to skip the line, and he should be very thankful." Sadly, Franklin did not get invited back to Air Force One where Obama ate his $300 order of barbecue. Go, read the full interview on Eater Austin.
