Vivian Howard's A Chef's Life Announces Season Two

PBS's Peabody Award-winning series A Chef's Life, featuring North Carolina chef Vivian Howard, has announced its 2014 premiere date: October 5. In an interview with Eater earlier this year, Howard confirmed she and husband Ben Knight were filming a second season of the show, which documents the couple as they operate their small-town restaurant the Chef and the Farmer and open a second concept, the Boiler Room. As in season one, each episode will focus on a specific Southern ingredient, and according to a press release, the new season will also include a "one-hour holiday special" in December.

In a January 2014 interview, Howard touted working with the network: "The great thing about working with PBS is that they don't tell you what to do, they don't tell you this needs to be in there," she said. "They really gave you the freedom to make the show or the series that you want, and that's what we wanted to do." More information as it becomes available.
