In of honor Independence Day, Vanity Fair asked some of NYC's most acclaimed chefs to serve up "America" on a plate. Their creations mixed classic Americana with personal nostalgia. Chef Sarah Sanneh of Pies 'n' Thighs dipped into the South and came up with a plate of fried chicken. Marcus Samuelsson (Red Rooster) married memories of eating fish as a child with his American food ideal for a tuna burger with cabbage tzatziki, hot sauce, and Old Bay potato chips. [VF]
