This past weekend embattled former cooking show host Paula Deen left her cushy home in Savannah, Georgia to open a cookware store in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Local news channel WVLT was on the scene when Deen's car pulled up to The Paula Deen Store. Inside the shop, find cookbooks, salsas, and the stove Deen used when she filmed her first cooking show. A longtime fan, Austin Dalton, told the news station: "She's been a true inspiration to me for so long now, I've been collecting all of her cookware stuff for about five years now."
"You wanna give people a wonderful experience... through their eating... and this was just a natural place to come.. it's- it's my people," said Deen. Meanwhile, butter queen Deen expects to open her new restaurant in nearby Pigeon Forge, Tenn. by "late summer."
