PDQ Chain's New Concept: Wow! That's Fresh (WTF)

Photo: Facebook

We see what you did there: The Florida-based fried chicken chain PDQ will soon unleash a new "burger, salad, and pizza" concept called Wow! That's Fresh (the exclamatory name, of course, is conveniently abbreviated to "WTF"). The Tampa Tribune reports PDQ co-founders Nick Reader and Bob Basham will open the first WTF restaurant in Tampa, serving dishes like a "pepperoni and bacon Caesar salad," a "deconstructed" cheeseburger salad, and made-to-order pizzas in a fast-casual setting (Tampa is also home to the duo's flagship location of the PDQ chicken-sandwich chain, which ostensibly stands for "People Dedicated to Quality").

Reader acknowledges the playfulness of the concept's name, telling the Tribune that they plan on signage "that say things like 'What's The Fuss'... We're trying to have a little fun with it." The concept now joins a long list of pho restaurants that cheekily allude to saying the F-word in their names.
