Here are your Friday afternoon book deals. Eater Maine reports that that chef Shannon Bard, who co-owns Zapoteca Restaurant Y Tequileria in Portland Maine, will publish a cookbook with Page Street Publishing in February of 2015. Titled The Gourmet Mexican Kitchen - Bold Flavors for the Home Chef, it will feature around 100 recipes, including one for Zepoteca's popular watermelon habanero margarita. There will also be a tips and techniques section where Bard will give readers "quick tips" on how to create "traditional flavors at home."
Next, Publishers Marketplace notes that chef Judy Joo who is the host of Cooking Channel's Korean Food Made Simple is also releasing a cookbook of the same name. It will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and will feature a 125 recipes that "make Korean food easy enough for American home cooks." There is no word on a release date yet.
Buzzfeed Books Editor Issac Fitzgerald and illustrator Wendy MacNaughton are publishing a book called Knives & Ink, according to Publishers Marketplace. It is the follow up to their upcoming book, Pen & Ink, and will be released by Bloomsbury. The book will focus on the tattoos of well-known chefs and "their rich, personal stories." No information has been given regarding the release date.
