Whatadumbidea: A man was arrested yesterday in Corpus Christi, Texas for allegedly punching a woman in the parking lot of a Whataburger. According to KrisTV, a 27-year-old woman sitting in the drive-thru line was apparently blocking the truck of 57-year-old Robert Thomas. Frustrated, Thomas got out of his vehicle and began banging on the victim's car window "with his fist," which is almost as scary as feral hogs running through a Whataburger. When she got out of her car, the Corpus Christi Police note, Thomas apparently punched her in the face.
The woman was taken to the hospital for series injuries to her face and her head and Thomas was charged with aggravated assault. KrisTV notes that he could be facing up to 20 years in prison plus a ten thousand dollar fine. Imagine all the honey butter, breakfast sausage, and fancy ketchup Thomas could buy with that kind of money. Earlier this month, another Texas Whataburger parking lot was the site of a shootout that resulted in one person being hospitalized. Eater has reached out to Whataburger for a comment.
UPDATE (June 25, 10:35 a.m.): Whataburger representatives have confirmed the incident in a statement, below.
