Summer officially begins this month, which means it's time to eat and drink outside as much as possible. Fortunately, June has got you covered between New York City's annual ode to barbecue (Big Apple Barbecue Block Party), a San Francisco food and music festival with the firepower of Chipotle (Cultivate), and an annual gathering of super famous chefs high up in the Colorado mountains (Aspen Food & Wine Classic). Beyond that, Danny Bowien will compete in a cooking-related regatta (S. Pellegrino Cooking Cup), Eleven Madison Park's Will Guidara and former Per Se general manager Anthony Rudolf will host a conference on hospitality (Welcome Conference), and DC chefs and restaurants will get some recognition (The RAMMY Awards Gala). Kennebunkport Festival

Where: Kennebunkport, ME
What: This week, more than 40 culinary events will hit Kennebunkport for its 10th annual festival. Chefs such as Damian Sansonetti and Cara Stadler will be there, and events include a "Wood Fired Maine" dinner in an antique barn featuring courses from Jody Adams (Rialto, Boston), Melissa Kelly (Primo, Rockland), Justin Walker (Earth, Kennebunkport), and Pichet Ong (New York City).
Slow Food NYC Fundraiser

Where: New York, NY
What: Slow Food NYC returns with its annual fundraiser/party that includes dishes from Snail of Approval awardees such as Frankie's Spuntino, wine and beer tastings, demos from local chefs, and a garden after-party featuring desserts from Estela and Runner & Stone. This year's event will honor chef Peter Hoffman with the "Snailblazer" award for his commitment to farm-to-table.
Big Apple Barbecue Block Party

What: Pitmasters from across America are descending upon New York for a weekend of barbecue, music, seminars, and booze. Mike Mills, Mike Emerson, Chris Lilly, Daniel Delaney, and more will be serving up plates of barbecue, while rock, blues, and soul artists will perform live in Madison Square Park.
Cultivate Festival
When: June 7 - October 18, 2014
Where: Various locations.
What: Chipotle kicks off its fourth-annual Cultivate Festival on June 7 in San Francisco. The musical lineup includes Neon Trees and Andrew McMahon, while the likes of 4505 Meats, Ritual Coffee Roasters, El Porteno Empanadas and, of course, Chipotle and its sister concept ShopHouse will be providing sustenance in the Artisans' Hall. Also expect some chef demos from Graham Elliot, Amanda Freitag, and more. Cultivate will head to Minneapolis next in August.
Summer by the Sea

What: Here's a peek at the crazy lineup for this year's Summer by the Sea fundraiser for New York's Citymeals-on-Wheels: Michael Anthony, Jonathan Benno, Daniel Boulud, Bobby Flay, Marc Forgione, Nobu Matsuhisa, Charlie Palmer, Ari Taymor, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jonathan Waxman, Sang Yoon, and many more. They'll be interpreting coastal, summer fare at tasting stations scattered across Rockefeller Center Plaza.
Huichica Music Festval

What: The Huichica Music Festival returns to Sonoma's scenic Gundlach Bundschu Winery with sets from David Longstreth, Mount Eerie Vetiver, and more, plus food from Bunk Sandwiches and Salumeria. Not to mention, plenty of wine (and beer) to be had.
S. Pellegrino Cooking Cup

Where: Venice, Italy
What: Mission Chinese/Mission Cantina chef Danny Bowien will represent the US this year at the 14th annual S. Pellegrino Cooking Cup in Venice, Italy. Over the course of the weekend, Bowien will face off against peers from Australia, Germany, Italy, Korea, and beyond to create a signature dish in a Young Chef of the Year dinner as well as a cook aboard a racing boat during the regatta. Last year's Young Chef of the Year winner Paul Qui will serve as a judge this year.
The Duckathlon

What: D'Artagnan is hosting an interactive event with chefs and farmers that they're dubbing The Duckathlon this month at Manhattan's Metropolitan Pavilion. Chefs such as Anita Lo, David Waltuck, Brad Farmerie, and more will pair up with farmers to lead challenges like cooking battles for teams of the general public.
Cookbook Camp

What: Matt Lee and Ted Lee are bringing their Cookbook Camp retreat to Brooklyn this month with two separate sessions. Bon Appétit Grub Crawl

What: Bon Appétit's Grub Crawl returns to New York with two separate crawls: one in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and the other on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Tales of the Cocktail

MAD 4

What: René Redzepi's annual MAD Symposium returns this August with D.O.M. chef Alex Atala on board as co-curator. Chefs, cooks, farmers, and other industry professionals will take over Copenhagen to discuss what cooking is today, how it will evolve, and their own responsibilities within that.
