Here are your Monday cookbooks deals. According to Publishers Weekly, food writer/author/Bourdain accomplice Michael Ruhlman is launching a four book "technique-driven series" with Little, Brown. First up is How to Roast: Foolproof Techniques and Recipes for the Home Cook which will be released in October. Following that is How to Braise which is set to be released in early 2015.
Publishers Marketplace notes that Bryan Calvert, chef and co-owner of the Brooklyn restaurant James, is releasing a cookbook with Little, Brown as well. Titled Brooklyn Rustic it will feature 100 recipes for "sophisticated yet homey dishes." There is no word on the release date yet.
Jon Hein, co-host of the radio show, The Wrap-Up Show, and a regular on the Howard Stern Show is releasing a book called Fast Food Maniac. According to Publishers Marketplace, it will be a "celebration of everything we love about fast food" and will explore national and regional chains. There will also be info on secret menu items, "opinionated best lists," and "expert drive-thru strategy." The book will be published by Three Rivers Press and there are no details regarding a release date yet.
