Here's a fascinating profile of Indian restaurateur P. Rajagopal, whose international Saravana Bhavan chain of restaurants includes a location in NYC. The "elusive" Rajagopal also happens to be a convicted murderer: He was sentenced to life in prison back in 2009, although he is now free on bail. As T Magazine notes, "all but one of Saravana Bhavan's 47 foreign franchises have opened in the 12 years since the murder," and Rajagopal runs operations from his empire's headquarters in Chennai.
