Chef Daniel Boulud has teamed with New York City's Department of Education to develop a restaurant apprentice program for high school students. Crain's reports Boulud's Dinex restaurant group plans to take on high-school kitchen interns in September, with graduates of that program offered a full apprenticeship upon completion. The system is similar to training programs in Europe, where chefs (like Boulud himself) train in restaurant kitchens inside of culinary school. [Crain's via Eater NY] [Photo]
