VENICE— Chef Danny Bowien will soon be (cooking) on a boat: The Mission Chinese/Mission Cantina chef has been tapped to represent the United States in the 14th-annual S.Pellegrino Cooking Cup, taking place this year from June 13 through 15 in Venice, Italy. As in years past, the event selects 10 "of the world's most talented young chefs" to participate in a weekend's worth of competition, featuring a "Young Chef of the Year" dinner and an on-board cooking challenge during a regatta. Last year's US representative (and Young Chef of the Year award-winner) Paul Qui will serve as a member of the jury. [EaterWire]
