A soldier who just returned home from Afghanistan decided to pose as a waiter at a Columbia, Missouri Olive Garden — not so he could pillage from the breadstick pile or take a sneak peek at all those trendy kale dishes — but to surprise his mom. According to ABC 17 News, Brian Gardner found out he was returning to Missouri back in March but kept it secret from his mom. Because surprising her was the first thing he wanted to do upon coming home. Gardner hid in the Olive Garden, his mom's favorite restaurant, and then brought his mom's drinks to the table where she was eating dinner. He set the drinks down and said, "Here you go momma." Predictably, his mom was shocked and so happy that she cried. The entire restaurant then burst into cheers and started clapping. Go, watch the adorable surprise:
