Chef Vikas Khanna to Bring NYC's Junoon to Dubai

New York City's Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Junoon has announced plans for a Dubai expansion. According to the press release below, chef/cookbook author/good looking person Vikas Khanna and restaurateur Rajesh Bhardwaj are bringing their acclaimed restaurant to the Shangri-La Hotel with an aim to open this Fall. The restaurant's menu will have "some 65 percent" overlap with the New York City menu while the rest will be new dishes inspired by Dubai.

Bhardwaj is quoted in the release saying that he sees Junoon becoming "a global brand" (with future expansion opportunities) and that Dubai is "increasingly important to the future international growth of a restaurant brand." In that he's not alone: Plenty of restaurateurs and chefs have set their sights on Dubai, including Wolfgang Puck, Danny Meyer, Jason Atherton, and Pierre Gagnaire. Below, the press release:
