The Taste Is Coming Back for a Third Season

Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

"And it's official," said a tweet from Anthony Bourdain; and indeed, buried in a press release from earlier this week, ABC has actually renewed The Taste for a third season. As like season two, the show will once again star Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Marcus Samuelsson.

Also like season two, the renewal comes as something of a surprise. In its first season the show had not-so-hot ratings and was then Deathwatched. Ratings for the premiere season of The Taste UK, which premiered in January, were also lackluster, with the show's second episode placing last in its time slot. No air date has been announced yet.
