The New York Times launched a new site in beta today dedicated to cooking and recipes called NYT Cooking. Last year, the Times shut down its dining and restaurant blog Diner's Journal and announced that NYT national editor/former critic Sam Sifton would be stepping down to lead new digital products, and here he is as the editor of NYT Cooking. There is video, cake, and a bunch of recipes from NYT staffers like Mark Bittman, Julia Moskin, and Kim Severson. Also: Pierre Franey.
